The clients had an old small addition and deck they wanted
removed. Their kitchen was old, dated, and not functional for a couple
who loves to cook. They wanted space for reading and unwinding, a
mudroom with storage, and a new kitchen.
We built a new addition to accomodate a spacious mudroom where
there is a place for everything. Just up the stairs from the mudroom is a
cozy space for reading with plenty of natural light. The open concept plan
from the kitchen to the sitting room allows cooking and entertaining to
happen simultaneously. Note the open shelves in the kitchen and tables in
the reading room. They were repurposed from wood that was removed
with the demo of the old addition. The handrail was designed specifically
for the clients and adds character and beauty to the home. The small
window with the flowers was originally the back of the house. We kept it in
the design and the clients keep flowers there year round.
