Certified Aging In
Place Specialist
|
NAHB Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS)
The Certified
Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical,
business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the
fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home
modifications for the aging-in-place. The National Association of Home Builders Remodelers Council, in
collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing
Council, developed this program to provide comprehensive, practical,
market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to
remodel their homes for aging-in-place.
What is aging-in-place?
In plain English, aging-in-place means remaining in one's home safely,
independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. It
means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing
years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special
events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call
a house a "home" for a lifetime. Home remodeling or residential remodeling can help you accomplish these goals.

Certified Graduate Remodeler |
NAHB Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR)
The National Association of Home Builders Certified Graduate Remodelers (CGR) must meet certain criteria, including
prescribed business practices and levels of experience. Further, CGRs must
demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their profession through continuing
education. John's CGR designation underlines our expertise, experience and
commitment to our clients. As such, H & H Builders is a leader in the Denver residential remodeling industry. |

EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm
Common home renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create
hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be
harmful to adults and children during residential remodeling.
EPA requires that firms performing home renovation, repair, and painting projects
that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and
schools be certified by EPA and that they use certified renovators who are
trained by EPA-approved training providers to follow lead-safe work practices.
Individuals can become certified home renovators by taking an eight-hour training
course from an EPA-approved training provider |
